For makers who aren't currently taking a casting class with us we have a casting service available.

Bring us (or courier in) your waxes and we can get them cast for you in the metal of your choice.

Charges

The cost for your casting is broken down into:

Casting Charge: This depends on the size of your item, a small ring will be between $7.45 - $9.10, a chunkier ring might be $10 - $13.50. We can give you an estimate for your item once we see it.

​

Metal Charge: this is charged on a per gram basis. Silver, copper, brass, bronze and white bronze weigh approximately 11.5 times the wax weight (including the sprue). Gold has different densities depending on the colour and karat, and we are happy to estimate this charge before we cast your wax.

Current metal costs:

Sterling Silver: $4.25 per gram

Fine Silver: $5.25 per gram

Bronze: $0.45c per gram

White Bronze: $0.80c per gram

Brass: $0.45c per gram

Copper: $0.45c per gram

Gold: POA

Courier Charge: You can choose our weekly courier ($4 return) or express courier ($11 return).

​

Admin and Handling Charge: $5 per group of waxes to send and process castings. Save costs by sending more pieces at once!

​

Packing Charge: $1 per item, you can avoid this charge if you photograph your waxes and carefully pack them yourself.

​

Example: 3 small wax rings in sterling silver

Casting Charge: $8.30 x 3

Metal Charge: 15.29g stg= $64.98

Courier Charge: $4

Admin Charge: $5

Total: $98.88

Finishing

We can also draw on our team of amazing jewellers to finish your castings for you. This involves cutting off the sprue, filing, sanding and polishing the piece to your requirements. The cost for this is $65 per hour, we can give you an estimate for the time required once we have the cast item. (A simple piece is likely to be around 45 minutes.)

You need to make sure your waxes have your name, email and return address,  and are clearly labelled with the type of metal you would like them cast in. If you would like an estimate before we cast them please let us know.
